In the 1980s, Dr. Deepak Vidmar was Associate Professor of Psychology and Gifted Education, President of Louisiana Psychological Association, USA, Chief Psychologist and Director of Programming at Louisiana Special Education Center, and Regional Supervisor of School Psychologists.

He was Consultant Psychologist to the Lake Charles Police Department and Office of Vocational Affairs of the Catholic Diocese. Dr. Vidmar was licensed for private practice and gave psychological evaluations to more than three thousand individuals.
