Response To International Living Email Newsletter
By Bruce Hosking
Sunday, Sep 16, 2007 03:32
I get a lot of email during the week and every once-in-a-while I come across one like this that just cries out for a response.

So, here's mine (below)....

Mr. Lief Simon
International Living - www.internationalliving.com/

Re: "IL's Flip Answers Disgust Me!"

Dear Mr. Simon:

My name is Bruce Hosking and I am a subscriber to your wife's (Kathleen Peddicord) "IL" email newsletters. This morning, I read with great interest, your response to your wife's disgruntled reader.

And I, like you, am a bit confused.

First of all, it doesn't really matter whether you're in the market to purchase property in the US or in a foreign country; the entire process (shopping, negotiating, and financing) is inherently challenging -and certainly frustrating.

Granted, shopping for property in some exotic overseas location does offer additional challenges to the buyer, however those challenges are not insurmountable - if you do your homework. Dreams of owning that vacation or retirement villa on the beach can and do come true for thousands who work hard to achieve their investment or retirement goals.

Furthermore now, with the help of the Internet and the plethora of foreign Real Estate market information that's instantly available to potential buyers - from websites like InternationalLiving.com, - prospective foreign buyers now have an even greater potential for success.

And to prove my point, and offer a positive solution to your disgruntled "IL" Postcards subscriber, I'd like to invite you, Lief and your wife Kathleen and all of your postcard subscribers to follow the link below to the BIG MEMBER DISCOUNTS Department at my website, BoomerBikerOnline.com.

www.boomerbikeronline.com/public/department46.cfm

Once there, please take note that at BIG MEMBER DISCOUNTS, I have done the homework and successfully negotiated membership discounts for my subscribers who would like to buy reasonably priced properties in Costa Rica. Furthermore, visitors to my site will find valuable information and podcasts interviews that address many of the aspects of property ownership and retirement living in this Central American Democracy.

So, if your unhappy and skeptical "Postcards" subscriber has any interest in owning property in Costa Rica, he or she need only surf to the link above to take advantage of the real estate expertise of Nell Little Thibodeaux, Realtor/Broker/Owner of Affordable Homes In Costa Rica and the legal council of Attorney Gregory Kearney-Lawson of Kearney Lawson and Associates in San Jose.

Both Ms Thibodeaux and Mr. Kearney are American citizens and residents of Costa Rica who have built their businesses around helping foreigners effortlessly invest in and successfully retire to this beautiful Central American Country.

I offer this thought to your newsletter subscribers --

"Information is the global product of the 21st Century - those of you who learn to master it's use and leverage the awesome power of the Internet will realize your wildest dreams."

So, here it is -- Sunday morning and I'm feeling a little guilty!
By Bruce Hosking
Sunday, Sep 09, 2007 11:18
While I was having my first cup of coffee this morning, it dawned on me - I had not added an entry into my Editors blog since Wednesday.

The first week of operation of this site had been so hectic for me that I lost track of time, as it just seemed to fly by.

So, in order to placate my guilt and live up to the responsibility I've taken on to build and maintain BoomerBikerOnline, I'm here now, sitting at my laptop, making the time and taking stock in all that has been accomplished in the first 5 days of operation. And to share my thoughts about this website and some of my plans for the future.

BoomerBikerOnline's first official day of operation was Tuesday September 4, 2007. In the last 5 days since we opened, a LOT of events have transpired.

· Right out of the gate on Tuesday, I composed an email and sent it off to Dan George, Executive Director of the Florida Trail Riders.org. In my email to Mr. George, I outlined the details of a multi-media project idea I had been developing for quite some time now.

I went on to share the details of my project with Mr. George and to invite him and all the members of the Florida Trail Riders to become my partner and to become active project participants.

Finally, I outlined my project's fundraising potential and suggested that non-profit organizations like the Florida Trail Riders would benefit greatly from becoming actively involved.

Mr. George promised he would forward my proposal to the Florida Trail Riders Executive Committee for consideration.

· On Wednesday I was able to finalize the details of a business partnership with Capt. Wade Osborne of Afishionado Guide Services in Tampa, Florida to extend exclusive discounts to BoomerBikerOnline members who wish to experience a world-class fishing adventure on the waters in and around Tampa Bay.

The details of Capt. Osborne's guide services can now be found posted under the PRODUCTS department in the left-hand column of both the Public and Members Home pages of this site.

· Also, on a personal note, on Wednesday I took Mercedes, our families' 4-year-old pug to the vet. Ever since she was a puppy, Mercedes has had a problem with her right hindquarters.

From time to time she would become lame and countless visits to the vet, x-rays and examinations were unsuccessful in revealing the root cause of the problem -- until now.

This time, after being examined by our vet, he discovered that Mercedes had blown out her patella (her kneecap) and to correct this acute problem would require immediate surgery.

So, Mercedes underwent almost 3 hours of surgery the next day to rebuild her knee.

We picked her up Saturday morning and took her home to start her long period of recovery. Not only a very stressful situation for our other dog, Precious, but also for both my wife and I.

But, barring any complications, our vet says everything went well and Mercedes should enjoy a full recovery.

There's a lot more plans in the works for BoomerBikerOnline in the days, weeks and months to come, but I don't want to jinks myself by spilling the beans to future plans right now.

My advice to everyone is have a look around this site and try to take advantage of the useful information and member discounts already available.

And, please stay tuned….there's more good "stuff" coming!
