1 whole chicken (cleaned) 1 whole onion 4 chopped celery stalks 4 chopped carrots 1 whole green pepper chopped ¼ cup of fresh chopped parsley 1 tsp. salt 1 cup of white wine 2 tbs. of fresh garlic (chopped) 1 whole tomato (chopped in 1/8 sections) 1/2 tsp. of peppercorn medley from grinder 1 tbs. of fine mixed herbs 1 tbs. of butter |
| Directions: |
Stuff whole chicken with onion and put in a 5quart slow-cooking crockery pot.
Add celery, carrots, green pepper, tomato and wine.
Add water, about 1 1/2 inch from top of rim.
Add parsley, salt, garlic, pepper, butter, and herbs.
Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours.
Remove chicken carcass and take meat off bones; return meat to broth.
Drop cooked noodles into pot with meat.
Cover and cook for 20 to 30 minutes.
Makes 6 to 8 servings. |
